Their AS-60993-84 burner retrofit kit allows technicians to install a new set of burners in an existing furnace to restore it to working order while taking advantage of a well-built modern piece of equipment. Lochinvar and A.O. Smith have also brought replacement parts onto the market, designed to adhere to the specifications people would expect from more modern pieces of equipment. For instance, the 100109928 LP pilot burner can be a drop-in replacement for part #9004542215. Technicians have to power down the current furnace, put it in a safe state, and then replace the old pilot light with the one from this kit.

Boiler burners are a more conventional device with a long industry history, but they've also seen some upgrades. RBI's 70-2214 boiler burner is as modern as they come. It's designed with durability, offering a reasonably long service life. That's made it n attractive option for those with boilers attached to a commercial-grade HVAC system that operates in a larger facility.

While they might not necessarily receive ratings based on a specific outside standard, most burners do come with a complete specification list. Those who want the most efficient option are encouraged to look into a more recent device. Why? There's a good possibility that newer burners will outperform their existing unit.
